The Stairs! I love any sort of stair training as they will quickly
humble most people in regards to their fitness level. Out of shape…
winded FAST! And even if you are in great shape you can always pick up
your pace, climb 2 stairs at a time, and really continue to improve
your level of fitness.
If you have a stairmaster in your gym (since it’s not quite
summertime yet), here is a good workout program to get you ready for the
stairs in the sun. Bring your water bottle, you’re gonna need it.

The
StepMill might be the single most underutilized piece of equipment at
the gym. When you’re scrambling to find a treadmill or elliptical,
there’s always a slew of StepMills begging for someone to hop on. Don’t
be fooled by a general lack of interest — this machine offers an intense
cardio workout. If you’ve never used a StepMill before, then this tough
25-minute is a perfect place to start. The warmup and cooldown are all
built into the plan, so all you have to worry about is stepping up onto
those stairs and pressing start.
