About Healthy Happy Life Info

About This Blog

Health covers a whole host of various angles.  This page explains briefly what this blog is about, without going into too much detail about health.

Becoming healthy is normally associated with happiness.  However, what does it mean to be healthy?

The World Health Organization defines ‘health’ in the following manner:

"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

More about ‘health’ can be read in Wikipedia here.

There are many levels to health, as may have become apparent.  The aim here is to provide information that you can apply if appropriate to you, and so improve some aspect of your wellbeing.  Most posts will be about physical health, eating and nutrition, as well as food, relaxation, and anything that fits these categories.

The articles on this site come from various sources from around the globe, and fit nicely under healthy happy life.  Most of them are meant to provide information that may be new to you, informative, useful, inspiring, etc.

You will NOT find any information associated with mental health here.  It is a highly specialized category of health, and is left for those who are equipped to deal with it appropriately.

Equally information will not be found here for special diets.  It is best to discuss them with a dietitian who has your personal details, and is thus able to do so.

In spite of the areas that this blog will not cover, there will be more than enough material that can be found here.

Various factors influence health, the most common ones being genetics, education, income, and the location where we live.  Other determinants are culture and how well we generally manage.

The prime intention here is to give adults the choice, i.e. individuals over the age of 18, to take the initiative that will help them to become healthier, or to maintain health.  It is up to every individual to take the required action until the desired result is achieved.  Most often than not a healthy lifestyle is all that is required, which may mean that some habits may need to be altered for life.

A healthy life, if you have ever experienced the opposite, makes life a lot happier.  It may be difficult to appreciate this if ill health or injury has been absent from one’s life.

It is hoped that you will find the information and news here helpful and of interest.
