All foods contain calories. Everything contains some sort of energy
to provide our body with. That is the whole reason behind food! We use
it for energy. Following a low calorie diet is a great way to lose
weight while consuming a diet high in calories is good for gaining
weight. A negative calorie diet is one that is used for weight loss.
A lot of diets tell you to cut back
on eating and although this may be true with some foods, there are some
foods that you should eat a lot of in order for the negative calorie
diet to work.
Negative calorie foods are typically high in fiber
because it takes the body longer to digest. The longer digestion takes place, the more energy your body is using, and the more fat you are

Asparagus Salad
- 12 ounces asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons Braggs amino acids
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup lettuce
- Sea salt and black pepper to taste
Shave asparagus into long thing strands using a peeler. Soak the
asparagus in a large bowl filled with ice water for 60 minutes. Drain
well and dry. In a separate bowl, prepare the dressing by combining the
other ingredients. Whisk together and pour over the asparagus. Toss well
and arrange the asparagus over the lettuce. Enjoy!
Apples and Cinnamon
- 1 apple
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon stevia
Peel, slice, and core the apple. Mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle over the apple slices. Enjoy!
Cold Green Bean Salad
- 1 1/2 cups distilled white vinegar
- 1/4 cup salt
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 1/4 cup fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
Combine water, salt and vinegar in a large pot and bring to a boil.
In a separate bowl, add garlic and green beans. Pour the water/vinegar
mixture over the green beans and refrigerate over night.
Roasted Carrots
- 6 carrots, washed, peeled, cut into chips
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
In a small bowl, combine all the spices and mix well. Coat the
carrots with the spice mixture. Roast the carrots at 400 degrees on a
cookie sheet for 20 minutes or until the edges are crispy.
Cucumber Salad
- 3 cucumbers, peeled and sliced very thin
- 1 small onion, sliced very thin
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
Pour oil and vinegar into a container and shake well so they mix.
Pour that over the cucumbers and onions. Add salt and pepper.
Refrigerate overnight.
